What HopWeGo isn't
A rating site, a check-in feed, or a sommelier exam.
- No public profile. No leaderboard. No "you've checked in 47 IPAs" badge.
- No 12-tab beer encyclopedia. We pick one beer; you decide if you want to know more.
- No paid ranking. Recommendations aren't for sale — venues pay for the service, not for placement.
- No "score out of 5". Untappd has that covered.
Things people ask
What if the lighting is bad?
Hopster will tell you. There's a retake button with hints — flatten the menu, avoid glare, get the names in frame. Bad photos return a 'try again' state, not a wrong recommendation.
What if I don't know any of the beers on the menu?
That's exactly the moment HopWeGo is built for. The recommendation works from style, ABV, brewery, and your one-question intent — not from prior knowledge.
Do I need to make an account?
No. The first scan and recommendation work fully anonymously. We offer an optional account *after* you've seen value, never before.
Is HopWeGo just another way to drink more?
No. The whole product is built around 'choose one beer, well'. We have a /drink-responsibly page and we'd rather you order one beer you love than three you forget.
How accurate is it?
We're honest in the result. If confidence is low, Hopster says so or hides the candidate entirely — we'd rather show fewer beers than wrong ones.
