About

Three people. One Hopster. A lot of beer.

We started HopWeGo because the answer to a confusing beer menu isn't more information — it's less.

HopWeGo started in an Antwerp beer bar with a 60-bottle menu and a friend who refused to order until someone explained every Lambic. Forty minutes later, with a beer he didn't enjoy and a small pile of regret, we wrote down what we wanted instead: one beer, picked for me, in seconds.

That's the whole product. HopWeGo doesn't try to teach you about beer. It tries to help you order — once, well — and get back to the conversation.

We're three people, based in Antwerp, deeply unimpressed with our own beer expertise. We think Belgium has the best beer culture in the world and the worst beer-menu UX. We're going to fix one of those.

Meet Hopster

Your friend at the table who actually knows the menu.

Hopster is the in-app character who reads the menu, asks the question, and tells you what to order. He's a hop with round glasses, a beard, and a tulip glass — modeled, with affection, on the type of friend every group has and only one group is lucky to have.

Why Belgium first

Brussels has more beer styles per square kilometer than anywhere else on Earth and a tourist population that doesn't know any of them. If HopWeGo works in Brussels, it works anywhere. Plus we live here.
